Ferraris Atlas from 1777 – first atlas of Belgium

The Ferraris atlas is a collection of 275 hand drawn and painted topographical maps made for Austria, which than ruled over what is currently known as Belgium.
As the MyBlood team is working and living in Belgium we wanted to share these wonderly maps with you.
All the villages that our ancestors lived in are drawn in detail; houses, roads, trees, rivers… you name it. You can freely access these maps, zoom in/out…on this link here, and get more info on Joseph de Ferraris here.
These maps are from before the industrial revolution (1777) and were made for military purposes.

I hope you like it… best regards.

Geert
